Her debut book, Your Credit Score: How to Fix, Improve, and Protect the 3-Digit Number That Shapes Your Financial Future, is the best-selling credit-scoring book of all time. Weston is also a contributor to The Baby Years Experts' Guide. Weston's writings appear twice a week on the MSN Money website, which has over 12 million monthly visitors. Weston began her career as a reporter for the Seattle Times before moving on to the Anchorage Daily News. She was part of the writing team that received the Pulitzer Prize for Meritorious Public Service in 1989 for coverage of the alcoholism pandemic among native Alaskans, as the author of an essay on fetal alcohol syndrome. She was part of a three-person journalism team at the Orange County Register that received the prestigious Gerald Loeb Award for coverage of the comparator systems penny stock scam. She joined the Los Angeles Times' business department in 1998 and began writing Money Talk. She left the Times four years later to write for MSN. For her MSN series on financial benchmarks, Weston earned a Clarion Award in 2007. The Society of American Business Editors and Writers has awarded her four Certificates of Merit for her MSN pieces.
