Laura Cayouette Biography

Laura is best known for her role as Leonardo DiCaprio's sibling in Quentin Tarantino's Django Unchained, but she has appeared in over sixty films and TV shows, including Now You See Me, Kill Bill, True Detective, Friends, and repeated roles on Treme & Ava Duverney's Queen Sugar. She's showed up in over sixty commercials, wrote and directed a prize short movie featuring Joanna Cassidy & Danica McKellar, one more short movie featuring Richard Dreyfuss & Mircea Monroe, and produced and featured in Quentin Tarantino presents a biker film starring Dennis Hopper, Hell Rider, Michael Madsen, & David Carradine. Laura has written seven books, the most recent of which is Know Small Parts: An Actor's Guide to Turning Minutes into Moments and Moments into a Career, which has a preface by Richard Dreyfuss & endorsement deals from Kevin Costner, Lou Diamond Phillips, Reginald Hudlin, and many others. Cayouette received her Master's Degree in English literature and creative writting from the University of South Alabama, where she was also honoured with the 2014 Distinguished Alumni Award. She has educated acting and directing at several universities, including a graduate-level course she designed to teach directors how to partner up with actors. Laura has also educated or spoken at her alma mater, the American Academy of Dramatic Arts in New York City, as well as the Los Angeles campus, L.S.U., the Los Angeles Film School, the New York Film Academy, Loyola, London's Brian Timoney Actors' Studio, and the Saints/Pelicans media group. Laura was recently appointed as her union's local delegate, where she has spearheaded changes to the national website that will profit those affected by workplace assault and other #metoo movement issues. She is also the Chairman of the Women's Committee for the local.
