Lars Rebien Sorensen Biography

Lars Rebien Srensen began his career in Enzymes Marketing at Novo Nordisk in 1982. He has served in several overseas assignments over the years, including in the Middle East and the United States. Mr Srensen was appointed to Corporate Management in May 1994, and in December 1994 he was given special responsibility for Health Care within Corporate Management. In November 2000, he was named president and chief executive officer. Mr Srensen serves on the boards of Danmarks Nationalbank in Denmark, Thermo Fisher Scientific Corporation in the United States, and Bertelsmann AG in Germany. Mr. Srensen holds an MSc in Forestry from the Royal Veterinary and Agricultural University of Denmark (now the Faculty of Science at the University of Copenhagen) and a BSc in International Economics from the Copenhagen Business School. In 2005, Mr. Srensen was named a Chevalier de l'Ordre National de la Légion d'Honneur by the French government. Mr Srensen joined the University of Copenhagen's Faculty of Life Sciences as an adjunct professor in October 2007. Mr Srensen is a Dane who was born in October 1954.
