Lance Allred is the first deaf player in NBA history and an authority on Leadership, Perseverance, and Grit, with his 5 Principles of Perseverance. Lance was born and reared in a polygamist commune in rural Montana until his family fled when he was 13 years old, legally deaf with an 80% hearing loss due to RH problems at birth. Lance is more than a basketball player since he didn't start playing until he was in eighth grade as a method of adjusting to his new life outside of his childhood surroundings, despite being unable to play with his hearing aids and standing at 6'11". Lance's story of being an underdog is for anyone who has ever felt a dream was just out of reach as an international Inspirational Speaker, as he travels the world sharing his "5 Principles of Perseverance" and journey to becoming the first deaf player in NBA history... at the age of 27, seven years later than the average NBA rookie.
