She is a unique woman who is known for motivation, inspiration and empowerment. As a young lady she encountered many challenges in the school system and found out early in life that one has the power to create their own destiny in spite of societal labels.

It was difficult for her to pass standardized tests which caused her to be placed in lower level classes during her freshman year in high school.

During her junior year of high school she went to her guidance counselor and asked if she could be placed in regular level courses. She wanted to attend a four year university and would have to take Geometry and Algebra II concurrently in order to meet their academic requirements.

Kristie worked untiringly and accomplished the goal of being one of the first and few in her family to attend college. The struggle to excel would continue as she approached her college graduation and would have to take another standardized test.

She was determined to succeed and took the math portion seven times, a main area of weakness. The Dean granted her leniency in order to graduate from Florida State University in 1997.

Kristie understands in the words of Marva Collins that, "Success doesn't come to you, you go to it." It is this entrepreneurial and enterprising mindset that has led her to achieve many of her greatest accomplishments.

She considers herself to be an eternal optimist, which is an attitude essential to the life of a dreamer. Many of her peers are amazed at how she continues to pursue dreams in the midst of adversity.

When she experienced being laid off for the first time in her life, she decided to start her own business and determined to never allow all of her financial eggs to be placed in one basket.
