Dr. Kristen Lee, Ed.D., LICSW, often known as "Dr. Kris," is a globally acclaimed, award-winning behavioral science clinician, researcher, educator, speaker, and activist from Boston, Massachusetts. Dr. Kris's research and teaching interests include individual and organizational health and recovery, particularly for disadvantaged and underrepresented communities, as the Lead Faculty for Behavioral Science and Faculty-in-Residence at Northeastern University. She is the author of *Mentalligence: A New Psychology of Thinking-Learn What It Takes to be More Agile, Mindful, and Connected in Today's World, which won the Next Generation Indie Book Awards Motivational Book of 2015 and RESET: Make the Most of Your Stress, which won the Next Generation Indie Book Awards Motivational Book of 2015. She writes for Psychology Today and Thrives Global on a regular basis. NPR and CBS radio have both featured Dr. Kris's work. Crackin' Up: Where Therapy Meets Comedy is her show. Dr. Kris is a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker who advocates for enhanced mental health integration in social policies and institutions in the United States and throughout the world to improve access and health outcomes. She has worked with the Departments of Minority Affairs, Substance Abuse and Mental Health Administration, and Health and Human Services as a federal grant reviewer. She is a member of the U.s. Psychological Association and the National Association of Social Workers. She graduated from Worcester State University with a BS, Boston University with an MSW, and Northeastern University with an Ed.D. Northeastern University awarded Dr. Kris an Excellence in Teaching Award in 2011 for her "depth of knowledge" and "interesting teaching approach." She received Worcester State University's Distinguished Professional Achievement Award in 2015 for being "a leader who lives by the greatest intellectual and ethical standards."
