Kaitlyn Dever is an American actress born in Phoenix. Her family moved to Dallas Texas where she studied at the Dallas Young Actors Studio. She starred in a number of commercials before deciding to move to Los Angeles to pursue television and film. She is best known for her work in Justified Last Man Standing and Short Term 12. Her first major role came in 2009 when she appeared in An American Girl: Chrissa Stands Strong. She was cast as a recurring character in FX's crime drama Justified. Soon after she was cast as a series regular on sitcom Last Man Standing starring Tim Allen. She has appeared in multiple motion pictures including J. Edgar and The Spectacular Now. She received praise for her work in Short Term 12 which she starred in alongside Brie Larson Rami Malek and Lakeith Stanfield. In 2014 she was named one of Variety's '10 Actors to Watch.
