Julien Cornebise Biography

Julien Cornebise is the Director of Research and Head of the London Office at Element AI. In addition, he is an Honorary Researcher at University College London. Prior to joining Element AI, Julien worked as an early employee at DeepMind (later acquired by Google). During his four years at DeepMind, he led several fundamental research directions that were used in early demos and fundraising, as well as helping to establish and lead the company's Health Applied Research Team. He has been working with Amnesty International since leaving DeepMind in 2016. Julien has an MSc in Computer Engineering, an MSc in Mathematical Statistics, and a PhD in Mathematics with a focus on Computational Statistics. from the University Paris VI Pierre and Marie Curie and Telecom ParisTech, for which he received the International Society for Bayesian Analysis's 2010 Savage Award in Theory and Methods.
