Julian Marley Biography

Julian Marley is a Jamaican reggae musician from the United Kingdom. He is the son of Bob Marley, a reggae legend. Marley is a Grammy Award-winning reggae vocalist, composer, producer, and humanitarian. He is a devout Rastafarian who uses his music to inspire his life and spirituality, following in his dad's legacy. Marley spent his childhood in both Jamacia and England. From a young age, he was musical and learned how to play the keyboard, drums, bass, and guitar, among other equipment. In 1989, he co-founded Ghetto Youth International, a production house, with his brothers Ziggy and Stephen Marley. In 1996, Marley released his debut solo album, Lion in the Morning, and launched on a world tour. In 1997, he and his brother Damian Marley performed at the Lollapalooza festival. His second album, A Time And Place, was published in 2003. His 3rd album, Awake (released in 2009), was selected for a Grammy Award in the Best Reggae Album category. His fourth album, As I Am, was launched in February 2019 and was nominated for a Grammy Award in the Best Reggae Album category at the 62nd Grammy Awards. Marley's daughter tragically died young from a brain tumour that year.
