Julia Grace Biography

Julia Grace is the Vice President of Product Engineering at Netflix. She previously served as Senior Director of Infrastructure Engineering at Slack having grown the team from 10 to 75+ in under 2 years. She leads engineering teams spanning 3 engineering offices in US and Canada and report directly to Slack's Vice President of Engineering Michael Lopp. As an effective driven technical executive with over 15 years of building software products Grace is highly skilled at bridging the gap between engineering and business. Grace's career has spanned a broad set of domains from Enterprise SaaS to Consumer Web to B2B (business-to-business) and B2C (business-to-consumer) Marketplaces. She's also led product development at both early and mid-stage startups. Grace served as the product manager for the Slack infrastructure organization (in addition to leading the org) for 1.5 years until she hired their first product manager. Previously Grace was the co-founder and CTO of Tindie up until the acquisition by Hackaday/SupplyFrame in August 2015. She has a BS with Honors in Computer Science from the University of North Carolina where she did undergraduate research in operating systems.
