Judson Todd Allen, who was born and reared in Chicago's Chatham neighborhood, was exposed to savory dishes at a young age. His grandpa, after whom he was called, instilled in him an obsessive desire for "all things eating." Judson's grandfather's Creole traditions and cooking manner shaped his culinary perspective as he grew up in Louisiana. Judson was clearly in love with wonderful food, from his weekend fishing trips to his anticipated holiday family feasts. His passion for food prompted him to enroll at Chicago's only urban agricultural high school, "The Chicago High School for Agricultural Sciences," where he majored in Food Science. Judson opted to continue his education in Food Science and Nutrition at the University of Illinois in Urbana Champaign after deciding between culinary school and a non-traditional path. Judson, who was always looking for ways to stand out, became fascinated with the science of food and how flavors interacted effortlessly. Judson Todd Allen has been a consistent presence at the Kenmore Live Studio in Chicago, offering a Cooking Show Series in front of a live studio audience, with the goal of bringing his boisterous personality and love of food to television. Judson, dubbed "The Architect of Flavor" TM by his followers and supporters, has hosted events ranging from "Foods That Put You in the Mood" to "Ganbatte Japan - A Live Cooking Show Benefit Event for the People of Japan."
