Reinhold was born in Fredericksburg, Virginia, and lived there until his family relocated to West Palm Beach, Florida, during his junior year of high school. He disliked West Palm and went to Stuart, Florida, on his own. Reinhold lived alone, with his father paying the rent as long as he got good marks at Martin County High School, where he spent his junior and senior years. Judge is a nickname given to him by his father when he was little. After graduating from Mary Washington College and the North Carolina School of the Arts, he worked at a number of smaller theatres, including Burt Reynolds' Dinner Theater in Jupiter, Florida, before landing his first television role in an ABC Afterschool Special called A Step Too Slow.
