Josh Deckard Biography

In March of 2008, Josh Deckard created Forward Thinking Strategies, a company development firm. FTS works with local and international enterprises, as well as other groups, to help them expand and enhance their communication effect. Mr. Deckard was the Assistant Press Secretary to President George W. Bush before founding Forward Thinking Strategies. He was the press office's longest-serving employee, having worked there from 2002 to 2007. Deckard handled media operations in the White House, including major foreign summits and national addresses, as well as nationally broadcast press conferences at the White House, Camp David, and elsewhere. Deckard acted as a liaison for the US administration for media-related matters, having flown roughly a million miles with the President to more than 55 nations. Deckard oversaw the greatest enlargement of the White House press briefing room since its inception while in the press office. He worked in the White House Chief of Staff Andrew Card's office before becoming Assistant Press Secretary. He was a traveling aide to Republican Vice Presidential Nominee Dick Cheney during the 2000 Presidential Campaign. Mr. Deckard has assisted or worked on three presidential campaigns. Deckard is an adviser to Fio, a Toronto-based biotechnology business; a Partner at Hammerstone Capital; and a consultant to Guardian 24/7, a cutting-edge technological service giving Presidential-level medical care, in addition to leading Forward Thinking Strategies. He is a sought-after lecturer on communications, business, and political problems in the United States and internationally. Deckard attended the University of Kentucky and the Corporate Center for Study Abroad in London, England, and is a native of Cincinnati, Ohio. Mr. Deckard and his wife, Ali, have two boys and live in Arlington, Virginia.
