John O'Callaghan has been in shows in Canada, Ireland, and the United States. At the age of 17, he moved to Belfast to study Computer Science at the University of Ulster. At the same time, he began acting with Belfast Youth and Community Theatre, which had the mission of bringing protestant and catholic performers together.
In Boston, Massachusetts, the New Theatre School was founded. Following his graduation from theatre school, he opted to continue his career in Toronto, Canada. He rapidly became a working actor and a member of the Canadian Actors Equity. Carolan's Farewell at the famous DuMaurier Theatre Centre was his first equity performance.
