John Hathaway Biography

Tocqueville Asset Management L.P.'s Senior Executive Director, John Hathaway, is a Portfolio Manager and representative of the Finance Committee. He also serves on the panel of Tocqueville Management Incorporated, the General Associate of Tocqueville Asset Management. Mr. Hathaway, who has thirty-nine years of investment knowledge, is in charge of the Tocqueville Gold Fund, Tocqueville Gold Partners, as well as separate bank accounts for personal and institutional customers who pursue a gold tactic. Mr. Hathaway started his career in 1970 as an Equity Analyst with Spencer Trask & Co. before joining Tocqueville in 1997. In 1976, he decided to join the investment advisory company David J. Greene and Company, where he rose through the ranks to become a Partner. He founded and controlled Hudson Capital Advisors in 1986, then spent 7years as the Chief Investment Officer at Oak Hall Advisors. Mr. Hathaway went to Harvard College with a B.A., earned an M.B.A. from the University of Virginia, as well as being a CFA charter holder.
