Joanna Page Biography

Joanna Page is a Welsh actress best known for her role as Stacey in the BAFTA-winning television series Gavin & Stacey. She was born on March 23, 1978. Page spent eleven years on stage after graduating from RADA, primarily in costume plays for the Royal National Theatre and the Royal Shakespeare Company. As a result, she has appeared in films such as From Hell, Mine All Mine, Love Actually, and Miss Julie. She also appeared in Mark Owen's Makin' Out music video as his love interest. Page rose to prominence after starring in the BBC Three sitcom Gavin & Stacey, in which she played the main character Stacey. She turned on the Christmas lights in Barry, the town where Gavin & Stacey is partially situated and filmed, on November 23, 2007. Page starred in The Cazalets, a BBC drama about a divergent well-to-do English family during WWII, which premiered in 2001. In 2009, Page delivered voice-overs for a series of Kingsmill bread TV and radio commercials, as well as the Carphone Warehouse's Christmas TV advertising campaign. She was featured on the cover of FHM in December. Page played Cinderella in a pantomime in Woking over Christmas 2009, a role she had previously done in Wimbledon. She portrayed Alice Fritzwareen in Dick Whittington at the Milton Keynes Theatre the following year. She hosted the Sky 1 program My Pet Shame in 2010. She was named the new Superdrug face in October. Page has been the primary character in Nick Jr. UK's pre-school cartoon Poppy Cat since May 2011. Page starred as Leanne in The Syndicate on BBC One, Helen Pearson in Sky Living's comedy Gates, and Mrs. Peterson in Nativity 2: Danger in the Manger in 2012.
