Jin-Yong Cai is the Vice President and Chief Executive Officer of the International Finance Corporation (IFC), a World Bank representative, and the world's biggest advancement organization centered on private industry development and poverty reduction. On Oct. 1, 2012, Cai, a Chinese citizen, joined IFC. He has a great deal of experience in the advancement of the private industry in evolving markets around the world. He also has a vast knowledge of a wide range of financial products and industries, as well as a record of handling highly complex dealings for clients in both developed and emerging regions. All through his career, he has been acknowledged for his involvement in significant financing, restructuring, and mergers & acquisitions transfers. Cai spent twenty years in the financial services industry before actually joining IFC. He spent twelve years with Goldman Sachs Group, where he was a representative of the global management team and the firm's top official in China. Before that, he worked in Morgan Stanley's investment banking industry as a senior manager. Throughout his time at Morgan Stanley, he was endorsed to the China International Capital Corporation, which has since expanded to become one of the country's largest financial institutions. Cai joined the World Bank Group in 1990 and holds a Ph.D. degree in economics from Boston University as well as a Bachelor of Science degree from Peking University.
