Jim Craig Biography

Jim Craig is an Olympian ice hockey goaltender, best remembered for his outstanding goaltending in the 1980 winter Olympics where the United States team beat the heavily favored Russians and went on to win the Olympic gold medal in what’s has been labeled one of the greatest sports moment of the 20th century.

Prior to the 1980 Olympics, Craig attended and played hockey for Boston University. He led BU to the NCAA Division I Champion ship in 1978, and was an NCAA All-Star in 1979. Craig continued to play hockey after the Olympics as a professional in the National Hockey League. Between the 1980 and 198, Craig started for the Atlanta Flames, Boston Bruins, and Minnesota North Stars.

Currently, Craig is president of Gold Medal Strategies, a Boston-area based motivational speaking and sales training company that also manages and represents Craig and his appearance business. Over the past 30 years, Jim has inspired, instructed, and provided strategic and winning direction for employees and associates from more than 500 organizations and some of the world’s most recognized brands in the country.
