Diesel contacted her two weeks later that she had been selected for the campaign. Following that, Mercado featured on a number of television shows, including E! News, and was praised for both her modeling and her portrayal of the differently-abled in fashion. Mercado has appeared in ads for Olay, Bumble 100, Calvin Klein fragrance, Nordstrom, Target, and Tommy Hilfiger, among others. She was featured on the first digital cover of Teen Vogue in September 2018. CR Fashion Book, the September issues of Glamour, Cosmopolitan, Glassbook, Jejune, and Herring and Herring magazine, and she was honored with 2019 Flaunt It Award, which recognizes celebrities who use their platforms to raise public awareness about a noticeable or undetectable distinction that has influenced their lifestyles.
