Dr. Jill Tiefenthaler, the National Geographic Society's chief executive officer, is in charge of planning and carrying out the organization's mission-driven activities and programmatic agenda. She guides their network of worldwide Explorers—scientists, creators, teachers, and storytellers—in their quest to enlighten and safeguard the wonders of our planet.
Tiefenthaler is a member of both the National Geographic Partners board and the Society's board of trustees. Tiefenthaler served as Colorado College's president for nine years before joining the National Geographic Society.
