Actress Jessica Brooke Capshaw is from the United States. She is well-known for her appearances on Grey's Anatomy and The Practice. She made her television debut as the new chief of pediatric surgery and attending surgeon on Grey's Anatomy in the fifth season. In 1994, Capshaw received his diploma from the Harvard-Westlake School in Los Angeles. At Brown University, where she later attended, she performed in the plays Arcadia and Cat in a Hot Tin Roof. She earned a B.A. in English and graduated in 1998. She took lessons at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts (RADA) in London during the summers, where she performed in a performance of A Midsummer Night's Dream as Puck. At the age of nineteen, Capshaw had a small part in the drama The Locusts (1997), which also starred her mother. She then played a part in the indie film Denial by Adam Rifkin (1998). Valentine, a 2001 horror movie, featured Capshaw as Dorothy Wheeler. After that, she appeared in Minority Report (2002) and The Groomsmen by Edward Burns, both of which she starred in (2006). She started appearing regularly in the medical drama Grey's Anatomy in 2009. The news that Capshaw will be joining Grey's Anatomy's cast as pediatric physician Arizona Robbins for a multi-episode arc was initially announced in December 2008. Capshaw's contract was eventually extended by the show's creator Shonda Rhimes to include all of the remaining episodes of the fifth season; as a result, Capshaw entered the sixth season as a series regular. Capshaw was initially only supposed to appear in three episodes of the season. Capshaw left Grey's Anatomy in March 2018, with the producers citing artistic considerations.
