Jeffrey P. Levine Biography

Dr. Jeffrey P. Levine is an Associate Professor in the UMDNJ-Robert Wood Johnson Medical School's Departments of Family Medicine and Obstetrics, Gynecology, and Reproductive Sciences. In the Department of Family Medicine, he is the Director of Women's Health Programs. Dr. Levine has been a main investigator and co-investigator in over forty clinical trials examining the safety, effectiveness, pharmacodynamics, and pharmacokinetics of different contraceptives, hormone replacement, osteoporosis, vaginitis, herpes, incontinence, and menstruation products. Dr. Levine has delivered lectures on women's health concerns to medical professionals and the general public both locally and nationwide. He has co-authored several papers, monographs, and book chapters on women's health. He also spends a significant amount of time educating students, residents, and fellows. In honor of his excellent contributions to medical education, he was recently named a UMDNJ Master Educator. Dr. Levine was the Chair of the Interagency Council on Osteoporosis of the New Jersey Department of Health and Senior Services. He is also a member of the Alliance for Better Bone Health's Board of Directors and the New Jersey Family Planning League's Medical Advisory Board. Dr. Levine recently took a brave step toward bettering his health and inspiring other family physicians and patients by participating in the second season of NBC's "The Biggest Loser," a Survivor-style weight reduction reality show. We are delighted to welcome back a slimmer and healthier Dr. Levine after a tough 12-week routine, and we wish him great health and success! Dr. Levine lives with his wife, four kids, and a zoo of animals he has adopted.
