A sports journalist and television analyst from the United States. Prior to the 2009 season, he joined NFL Network and NFL.com and worked as an NFL insider and reporter until 2012. On NFL Total Access, NFL GameDay Morning, NFL GameDay Final, and Thursday Night Kickoff Presented by Sears, La Canfora made appearances. He also contributes to NFL.com with news and blogs. He took over for Adam Schefter, who departed for ESPN. Prior to joining NFL Network, he worked for The Washington Post for 10 years, covering the Washington Redskins for six of those years. Prior to joining the Post, he was the Detroit Free Press's Red Wings beat reporter. On June 1, 2012, La Canfora revealed through Twitter that he will be departing NFL Network on July 1, 2012, when his contract with CBS Sports expired, and would be replaced by Charley Casserly on The NFL Today pregame program on Sundays. La Canfora and his wife Lauren live in Baltimore, Maryland, with their three children.
