Jarod Miller Biography

Jarod Miller is a naturalist, biologist, television personality, and producer who has 20 years of experience dealing with animals and 15 years in the television industry. Miller has given speeches everywhere from wildlife parks to universities to the White House. He was also the previous executive director of the Binghamton Zoo, and at the age of 25, he was the United States' youngest accredited zoo director. Miller has been propagating and working to protect endangered animal species since he was ten years old. Large cats, bears, prosimians, large and tiny primates, birds of prey, crocodiles, poisonous snakes, and reptiles are among the animals he has nurtured, researched, and handled. He also has experience in captive and wild specimen study and data collection. He also trained prize canines for obedience events and national showmanship while he was a youngster. Miller used to spend much of his time outside as a youngster, always wanting to be closer to nature. Zoos were always his favorite places to visit, and he knew every animal that resided there. In fact, he came up with a three-page list of almost 200 species when asked to write down his favorite animal for a second-grade project. Miller graduated from Oswego State University in New York with a bachelor's degree in zoology and has published and presented studies on monkey behavior and ecology in the scientific community. He is an American Zoo Association professional fellow, a Sigma Xi Scientific Research Society associate member, and a member of the American Federation of Television and Radio Artists. Miller founded Wild Encounters, a wildlife production, and teaching firm, in 1996 and has been to over 13 countries since then, focusing on South America, Central America, and Equatorial Africa. Miller has appeared on hundreds of national television shows over the last decade, including The Today Show, Good Morning America, The Early Show, The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, Late Night with Conan O'Brien, Jimmy Kimmel Live, The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson, Rachael Ray, Live with Regis and Kelly, Entertainment Tonight, and Access Hollywood, among others.
