James Orbinski is a Canadian physician-humanitarian, co-founder of MSF Canada, and recipient of the 1999 Nobel Peace Prize for Médecins Sans Frontières. He led medical teams during the 1994 Rwanda genocide, 1996 Zaire refugee crisis, and conflicts in Somalia, Afghanistan, and Kosovo.

A University of Toronto professor and Massey College Principal, he chairs the Global Health program at the Dalla Lana School of Public Health. Author of “An Imperfect Offering” (2008), he advocates equitable access to medicine and climate-health justice.
