Dell has modernized Katz's Delicatessen, a nearly 130-year-old New York institution, by upgrading its technology, expanding catering operations and shipping nationwide. As owner and "Top Dog," Dell is leading the charge in opening the first ever Katz's location outside of its home in the Lower East Side. The new satellite business will open in Dekalb Market in spring 2017.

If anyone knows what real pastrami is, it’s Dell. You might remember the precise moment when Katz’s Deli, famed for its giant pastrami sandwiches, was thrust into the spotlight. “I don’t usually recognise when there’s a celebrity in the store. Usually a customer or one of the guys are like ‘hey, that’s so-and-so’, or ‘Leonardo di Caprio is here’” said Dell before adding, “alright, maybe I’m not that bad.” Dell’s first celebrity encounter took place during a lecture given by Anthony Bourdain. A fellow student asked Bourdain where he would eat at 3am anywhere in the world. His response? Katz’s Deli.
