Dr. Ivan Poupyrev is a multi-award-winning technological leader, scientist, and designer who works at the forefront of interactive technology. He has spent the last two decades pioneering the invention, development, and commercialization of ground-breaking technologies in a wide range of fields, including virtual and augmented reality, haptic interaction, the internet of things, novel touch and touchless sensor paradigms, wearables, and smart garments, 3D printing, and novel manufacturing techniques, to name a few. Poupyrev is now a Director of Engineering and Technical Projects Lead at Google's Advanced Technology and Projects (ATAP) division, where he is responsible for the development of interface technologies and products for the future digital lifestyle. Prior to joining Google, he worked as a Principal Research Scientist at Walt Disney Imagineering and Sony Corporate Research labs in Tokyo. He was named one of the World's 100 Most Creative People by Fast Company Magazine, who described him as "one of the greatest interface designers in the world."
