Robert L. "Hoot" Gibson is a retired U.S. Navy captain, test pilot, and NASA astronaut who flew five Space Shuttle missions, commanding four, including the first docking with Russia’s Mir station. A TOPGUN graduate, he flew combat missions in F-4s and F-14s, logging over 14,000 flight hours. Inducted into the U.S.
Astronaut Hall of Fame (2003) and National Aviation Hall of Fame (2013), Gibson now speaks on leadership and teamwork, drawing from his aviation and space experiences. He hosts “Hoot Gibson’s Hangar Podcast”, discussing aviation with notable guests like Aaron Tippin.
