Heather experienced the start of depression and anxiety disorder during her sophomore year at Baylor University, which hampered her ability to function. She withdrew within, living alone and creating music whenever she could. Heather afterwards shifted her major to the subject she found most intriguing to investigate - global religion. Heather understood at that time in her life that becoming a singer-songwriter was her greatest desire. She did not modify her ambitions, but her career was put on hold when she was 19 years old. Heather married, had her first kid three years later, and then stayed at home for the following 13 years. For more than a decade, she had been committed completely to her family and her struggle to reclaim her mental health. Heather McCready triumphantly re-emerged from her quiet with her debut album, Finally Free, and is fast making up for lost time!
