H. Lawrence Culp, Jr. Biography

Mr. Culp has been President and Chief Executive Officer of Danaher since May 2001. Mr. Culp was instrumental in developing the Firm's strategic strategy, including the transformation of Danaher's portfolio into a premier scientific and technology company. Mr. Culp also played a key role in the creation of the Danaher Business System, the company's shared operational philosophy and methodology. Danaher's revenues and market capitalization have nearly quadrupled under Mr. Culp's tenure, reaching roughly $20 billion and $45 billion, respectively. Mr. Culp began his Danaher career in 1990 at Veeder-Root, where he rose to the position of President in 1993. In 1995, he was promoted to Group Executive and Corporate Officer, with main leadership responsibilities for Danaher's Environmental and Test and Measurement divisions. He was named Executive Vice President in 1999 and Chief Operating Officer in 2000. Mr. Culp worked for Accenture before joining Danaher. Mr. Culp is a member of the Washington College Board of Visitors and Governors, as well as the Potomac School Board of Trustees. He also belongs to the Business Roundtable and The Business Council. Mr. Culp graduated from Washington College with a B.A. and from Harvard Business School with an MBA.
