Gerald McRaney Biography

Gerald McRaney is an American film and television actor best known for his starring roles in Simon & Simon Major Dad and Promised Land. He was a series regular on the first season of Jericho and the final season of Deadwood. McRaney starred in a recurring role as main antagonist Mason Wood in season eight of Castle.
McRaney's first film role was the lead in Night of Bloody Horror. He acted in an episode of Dukes of Hazard in 1979 going on to play a receptionist on two episodes of The Rockford Files and a war veteran in Hawaii Five-O. He also had roles in The Incredible Hulk and Roots: The Next Generations before landing one of the title roles in the 1980s television show Simon & Simon which he is perhaps best known for. He went on to act in television series such as Central Park West the West Wing Deadwood and Jericho. In 199 he starred in the film A Holiday Romance. Then in 2010 McRaney starred in The A-Team. He has also appeared on the telelvision series Longmire and House of Cards. In 2016 he began appearing on the NBC series This Is Us for which he was nominated for an Emmy for Outstanding Guest Actor in a Drama Series in 2017.
