Frank Spadone Biography

Frank Spadone struggled to decide what he wanted to do with his life after graduating from high school. His passion for photography drove him to enroll in the photography department at Humber College. Surprisingly, this led to Frank's current career as a comedian. After graduating from college, Frank began working with some of the best photographers in the country. Frank had a flair for amusing the crew on these assignments, it became obvious. Frank had everyone laughing, whether he was sharing stories about his family, mimicking the models, or making fun of himself. Photographers began to engage Frank not just for his photographic skills but also for his ability to entertain customers, which he did on occasion. One of the models suggested to Frank that he take his humor to the clubs during one of these photoshoots. Frank began to think about it. He decided to give it a shot after visiting a few local comedy clubs. Frank took the stage for the first time as a stand-up comedian on March 18, 1997. He didn't inform many people about it, and only a few close pals were in attendance. He was only on stage for five minutes, but those five minutes were enough to convince everyone in the room that this person was genuinely unique. He continued to perform at amateur and open mic events in Toronto, continuously honing his craft and establishing a following. He'd be performing in his first professional role in less than a year. He was soon starring at Toronto's most prestigious comedy clubs and touring across Canada with his show. He proceeded to hone his skill, graduating from Second City's improv programs and continuing to pursue advanced improv and acting classes. Frank's comedic résumé includes eight performances at the Just for Laughs Comedy Festivals in Montreal and Toronto, as well as serving as the only presenter for their 2010 22-city Canadian tour. Frank was also one of the few artists to have two Just For Laughs gala performances in 2010, which were broadcast on television in both North America and Australia. He is, without a doubt, a favorite of the world's most famous Comedy Festival. His one-man stand-up comedy act has sold out soft seating events in Toronto, Montreal, Hamilton, Ottawa, Vancouver, Detroit, and Chicago due to popular demand. In 2008, he went on tour in Australia and was asked to play at South Africa's Johannesburg Comedy Festival. In 2007, Frank co-produced and acted in The Ethnic Heroes of Comedy, a Just For Laughs ethnic comedy tour. Frank was also a featured performer on the highly popular World Cup of Comedy Tour, which visited Toronto, Montreal, Vancouver, and Los Angeles. CBC's The Boarder, The Jane Show, Harold and Kumar Go to Whitecastle's, The Man starring Eugene Levy and Samuel L. Jackson, and Take the Lead starring Antonio Banderas are just a few of Frank's television and film credits.
