F. William McNabb III Biography

Vanguard's Chairman and Chief Executive Officer are William McNabb III. Mr. McNabb joined Vanguard in 1986 and rose through the ranks to become a chief executive officer in 2008, as well as chairman of the board of directors and trustees in 2009. He formerly served as the Managing Director of Vanguard's institutional and international operations, and before that, he oversaw each of Vanguard's client-facing business units. Mr. McNabb works in the investment management business and is a member of the Investment Company Institute's Board of Governors' Executive Committee. He is also a board member of the Philadelphia Zoological Society and the United Way of Greater Philadelphia and Southern New Jersey. Mr. McNabb received an A.B. from Dartmouth College and an M.B.A. from the University of Pennsylvania's Wharton School.
