Dr. Evelyn N. Farkas is the former Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense for Russia/Ukraine/Eurasia. Previously she was a senior fellow at the American Security Project where she focuses on stability and special operations counterproliferation and U.S-Asia policy.
In 2008 she served as executive director of the congressionally mandated Commission on the Prevention of Weapons of Mass Destruction Proliferation and Terrorism which published its report World at Risk (Random House/Viking) in November 2008. From April 2001 to April 2008 she served as a professional staff member of the Senate Armed Services Committee.
