Efraim Halevy was born in the U.K in the year 1934 . He is currently Head of the Shasha Center for Strategic Studies at the Federmann School of Public Policy and Government at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. He serves as a consultant to Israeli Government ministries and agencies on strategic issues.
He was recently re- elected unopposed for a second term as chairman of the Israel Intelligence Heritage and Commemoration Center (IICC.) He has also been elected chairman of the Zalman Shazar Center for Jewish History.He served as National Security Advisor to Prime Minister Sharon ( 2002-2003 ) Head of the Mossad ( 1998-2002 ) Israel Ambassador to the European Union ( 1996-19998 ) Deputy Head of the Mossad (1990-1995) Senior Command Echelon of the Mossad (1967- 1990.) All in all he served in the Mossad for close to forty years.
