Dr. Tara Narula Biography

Dr. Tara Narula is a board-certified cardiologist, a CBS News medical commentator, an assistant professor of Cardiovascular Medicine at The Zucker School of Medicine, and the associate director of Lenox Hill Hospital's Cardiac Care Unit. She appears on CBS This Morning, CBS Evening News, CBSN, and CBS Sunday Morning, among other CBS News programs and platforms. She also contributes to O, Oprah Magazine on a regular basis. She joined the Lenox Hill Heart & Vascular Institute of New York in 2010 as an outpatient consultant and inpatient cardiac critical care provider. She is also board qualified in Internal Medicine, Nuclear Cardiology, and Echocardiography. She founded and ran her own small firm, Sun Juice Inc., after graduating from Stanford University with degrees in Economics and Biology. She went on to receive her medical degree at USC Keck School of Medicine, where she graduated with honors from the Alpha Omega Alpha Society. Dr. Narula received her internal medicine residency and cardiology fellowship training at Harvard University/Brigham and Women's Hospital and New York Presbyterian-Weill Cornell Medical Center, respectively. Dr. Narula is a fellow of the American College of Cardiology at the moment (FACC). She is a member of the NYC Go Red for Women Committee and a national spokeswoman for the American Heart Association. She was honored with the Super Doctors Award in New York City from 2014 to 2018. Her research interests include preventative cardiology, women's health, and coronary artery disease treatment.
