Dr. James A. West Biography

Dr. West is an ordained minister living in Peachtree City, Georgia, U.S.A.

He is also known for his work as an Author, Lecturer, Seminar Leader, Psalmist and Revivalist. James has done extensive work in the area of Personal Security & Protection Education, Law Enforcement, and Business. His work has kept him quite active in both secular and sacred societies. While leading a congregation in Honolulu, Hawaii he spoke on his radio broadcast, for several years, which had an audience throughout the Pacific Islands.

He trains men and women in the art of serving and protecting those in Leadership and High Profile Positions. James was a contributing writer in Christendom, a magazine that has readership in Canada, France, Italy, Ireland, England and Nigeria.

2006-2011 James worked in the capacity of Personal Assistant to the Attorney for the State of Georgia.

In 2009 James, along with his wife DeEtta, was inducted into the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Board of Preachers of Morehouse College.

He has membership in the New Cannon Society (based in Manhattan, New York).

2009 Dr. West published his Dissertation entitled: The Interpersonal Dimensions In Facilitating The Spiritual Formation Of Teenagers.

In 2011 James and DeEtta were selected by the Atlanta Tribune Magazine as one of Atlanta’s “Most Powerful Couples.” They were featured on the cover of the February issue.

He has traveled throughout the United States and in Foreign countries ministering the word of God in Revivals, Conducting Seminars, participating in Conventions & Concerts. In traveling around the world he has had the opportunity to speak to a wide range of people varying in color, creed, and national origin and representing a wide range of industries.

He has over 30 years of professional experience working in the field of education as a teacher; 35 years of professional experience as a Senior Pastor/Minister of several churches in America; 20 years in the Professional Security/Personal Protection Industry; 25 years of officiating little leagues sports; and presently serving as an Evangelist/Missionary/Consultant to several foreign countries.

James felt the move of God on his life at the early age of 12 and gave answer to that calling at the age of 20. The greatest paycheck that James has ever received in his life is one of knowing that people appreciate the services he offers.

James graduated from the University of Redlands in Redlands, California, with a BA Degree in Speech and Drama, along with minors in Religious Psychology and Public Education. James graduated from Colgate-Rochester Divinity School of Rochester, New York, receiving a Masters of Divinity Degree in Theology. James attended the University of Rochester Medical Center receiving a certificate of completion in a 1-year study of Pastoral Psychology. The Doctorate of Ministry degree was conferred upon James (Dr. James West) at The Kings Seminary (Kings University) located in Van Nuys, California.

James is proud to be married to the greatest woman on earth, DeEtta, and is also proud of the four gifts that God has given him his wonderful children, Nicol, Phillip, Danielle and Titus. James is extra proud to have grandchildren named Micaella & Kamau Emanuel who keeps the blood running warm through his veins. Dr. West believes that without the love and support of God and his family, he could not do the things he has been called to do.
