Dayna Devon

Dayna Devon is a correspondent for the nationally syndicated entertainment show Extra.  She joined the program in July 1999 as weekend co-anchor and primary weekday correspondent.  She later became the shows substitute anchor and was named permanent anchor in September 2003.  This year, Devon transitioned into a correspondent role for the program, specializing in major celebrity interviews and celebrity lifestyle reporting, requesting the newly redefined duties in order to be able to spend more time with her two young children, both under the age of three years.

Devon joined Extra after spending more than a decade in television news.  In 1997, she was hired as a general-assignment reporter for WPTY-TV, the ABC affiliate in Memphis, Tennessee.  Within a year, she was promoted to anchor for three of the stations primary newscasts.  With Devon as anchor, the station enjoyed a significant ratings growth “ as high as 300 on some shows.  In 1998, her team earned an Emmy Award for Best Live Broadcast.
