David has worked in the venture capital industry for over 20 years. Crescendo Ventures' Founder and Managing General Partner, has been involved in the establishment and growth of almost 50 technology businesses, including 17 IPOs and a dozen trade sales. Forbes named him to the Midas List (number 8 among VCs in 2005). David is a frequent attendee and panelist at the World Economic Forum's annual conference in Davos, as well as a member of the selection committee for the WEF's Technology Pioneers and the Steering Committee for Entrepreneurship and Successful Growth Strategies. He is on the Advisory Board of the Silicon Valley Executive Network, is a member of the Silicon Valley Leadership Group, and served on the National Venture Capital Association's Government Affairs Committee as Chairman (NVCA). As Chairman of the Board of the National Foundation for Teaching Entrepreneurship's Bay Area office, Chairman of the Woodland School, and Chairman of the Wine Forum, David is involved in philanthropy. David graduated from the University of Minnesota with honors. Compellent (NYSE: CML), Envivio, eSilicon, and Gale Technologies are all on his board of directors.
