David Scott Biography

He served four years as a fighter pilot based in Holland after West Point and Flying School. He went on to the Massachusetts Institute of Technology to further his education before enrolling in Test Pilot School. David's first mission was aboard Gemini 8, which, under the direction of Neil Armstrong, completed the first docking in space. In 1969, he returned to space on Apollo 9, a mission that tested all of the lunar equipment. The Apollo 15 Mission, the first scientific investigation of the Moon, was then led by David. This three-day mission in space featured the first motorized voyage to the Moon. Following his successful flights to space, David was named Director of the Flight Research Base in Houston, Texas, which operates between Houston and Moscow. His most recent endeavor was the establishment of a satellite recovery company, which he sold earlier this year. Because David is now based in London, he is in a unique position to speak with European businesses. There were numerous obstacles to overcome in the early days of the space program, and David discusses the issues, the entire Space Program, the Race to the Moon, and now the Future in Space.
