David Pollack Biography

David M. Pollack is the host of ESPN College GameDay and a former American football linebacker for the Cincinnati Bengals of the National Football League and the University of Georgia.
Pollack's football career began at Shiloh High School in Snellville Georgia. In football as a senior he was a Class 5A All-State selection and the Atlanta Touchdown Club named him the Defensive Lineman of the Year.
He went on to play for the University of Georgia and became only the second 3-time All-American in school history (2002 2003 2004) next to Heisman winner Herschel Walker. In addition to his All-American honors Pollack received the 2002 Southeastern Conference Player of the Year Award 2004 Southeastern Conference Defensive Player of the Year Award 2004 Chuck Bednarik Award 2003 and 2004 Ted Hendricks Award 2004 Lombardi Award and the 2004 Lott Trophy.
Pollack was drafted 17th overall as a linebacker for the Cincinnati Bengals in the 2005 NFL Draft. He played for the team until 2008.
After his football career had ended Pollack founded FanBan a manufacturer of sports banners that feature sports photographs and college football team logos. FanBan events have raised money for the YMCA scholarships that help underprivileged kids participate in YMCA programs.
