David Mammano Biography

David’s mission in life is to help people realize their highest potential through education. To accomplish this mission, David founded what has become Next Step Education Group, in 1995.

Next Step Education Group is a multi-media enterprise with digital, retail, mobile, video and print products and has grown to become a nationwide resource with prestigious awards and honors, including being named a three times consecutive Inc. Magazine 5000 growth company; a Rochester, N.Y., Top 100 growth company; and Youth Periodical of the Year from the Association of Educational Publishers.

Products include NextStepU.com, Next Step Academy and LINK Magazine. All of these products help students, parent and educators with college, career and life planning.

David’s most recent venture is the NextStepU College, Career and Life Planning Center in Victor, NY. This is a retail training facility that helps people with their next step as it relates to college, career and life planning.

David graduated from the University at Buffalo in 1991 with a bachelor’s in communications/advertising. He is also a graduate of the MIT Entrepreneurial Masters Program, an executive education program offered through the Entrepreneurs’ Organization (EO).

David’s community activities include being involved with the Make-A-Wish Foundation as a volunteer and most recently, the 2014 Rochester Gala Chair, a board member for Junior Achievement/Rochester, N.Y., Nazareth College’s School of Management and is an active member of EO – Entrepreneurs Organization.

David has spoken at hundreds of high school, college, business and EO events. In June 2012, he was able to check something off from his bucket list and spoke at a TEDx Conference. 

David’s hobbies include family activities, reading, cooking, eating, exercise and repeated attempts at humor.
