David Kahan Biography

David Kahan is the CEO of Birkenstocks America a footwear company and is responsible for leading the global resurgence of the brand. He has previously served as president of ENK International and Senior Vice President of Reebok.
Kahan assumed his role as CEO of Birkenstock in 2013 and has helped grow the company's US business by a factor of 10 under his management and leadership. He assisted in solidifying previously separate U.S. operating units into one converting to one operating platform for ease of service - especially for independents launched new products and revolutionized their marketing which has led to industry-wide recognition. Birkenstock was named Brand of the Year by Footwear News in 2013 and 2017.
He is responsible for all business operations throughout the Americas region and brought over 25 years of experience in the footwear industry to Birkenstock. He is on the board of directors of the Footwear Distributors and Retailers of America (FDRA).
Kahan previously headed the North American region for Reebok managing a $1.3 billion business and contributed to the management group that led Reebok to be acquired by Adidas in a $3.8 billion transaction one of the largest in the history of the footwear industry.
