Damien Fahey Biography

Damien began his presenting career as the long-time host of MTV's flagship show TRL. In 2002, he took over for Carson Daly on TRL, and in 2004, David Letterman chose him as one of four TV personalities to take over The Late Late Show on CBS. Since then, he has frequently filled in for Regis Philbin on LIVE! with Regis and Kelly and co-hosted I'm A Celebrity, Get Me Out of Here on NBC. Damien also covered the Grammys for CBS' The Early Show, doing backstage interviews with this year's winners. Damien appeared in two Family Guy episodes, "Peter's Daughter" and "I Dream of Jesus." Fahey's voice may also be heard in Robots, an animated film. On the radio, he now presents The MTV Weekend Countdown, a weekly syndicated radio show that airs on over 80 radio stations. Damien Fahey's confidence, humor, and comfort allow him to carry off any hosting position, whether on radio, daytime TV, or late-night TV. He has interviewed several celebrities, including Madonna, Johnny Depp, Bono, Brad Pitt, Tom Cruise, Beyoncé, Justin Timberlake, Harrison Ford, Janet Jackson, Jay Z, and The Dave Matthews Band, since joining TRL in 2002. Damien Fahey was born on June 1, 1980, in Massachusetts, and his fixation with radio began when, at the age of 14, he emptied his savings account and created a "radio station" in his bedroom. At the age of 15, he landed an internship and an on-air DJ position at 94.7 FM, where he played adult current songs. WMAS. He fought his way up the ranks and, at the age of 19, landed a coveted DJ position at Boston's renowned KISS 108 FM. Damien had been working at KISS 108 for three years when he heard about an MTV casting call in Boston. After acing his MTV audition, he relocated to New York to take over for Carson Daly on TRL, a daily show he hosted for seven years in a row. Damien is a total "drum-nerd" and music enthusiast. He was a member of The Classic Futures, a band that produced a music video and CD in 2008. In July of 2008, The Classic Futures performed live on TRL on MTV. Fleetwood Mac, Bruce Springsteen, Tom Petty, and U2 are among Damien's favorite bands.
