Popularly known as “Dae Dae,” Marquavis Goolsby is an American rapper from Atlanta, Georgia, born on July 29, 1992 and he grew up in Atlanta's Boulevard Fourth Ward. His debut single “Wat U Mean (Aye, Aye, Aye)” made him really famous. At about 8 years old, Dae Dae became interested in music when John Burton, his estranged father, bought him Lil Romeo and Bow Wow CDs. Dae Dae became a father for the first time and dropped out of school at age fourteen. Dae Dae's father converted a room in their home to a recording studio for Dae Dae because he still had interest in rap and music. His father was arrested by the police for having drugs in the home, and the studio equipment which his father had purchased was discarded because his father couldn’t provide the receipts as proof. Dae Dae got hired to do flooring work and concrete and he saved all the money he earned to participate in weekly open mic nights and also to record at a local studio. He was offered a record deal from Nitti Beatz Recordings after he met Anthem, who later became his manager and it was through Anthem he met Atlanta based producer Nitti.
