He has presented Wheel of Fortune (1975-1981), Love Connection (1983-1994), Scrabble (1984-1990, 1993), The Home and Family Show (1996-97, co-host), The Dating Game (1997-98 update), Greed (1999-2000), and Lingo (1999-2000) among others (2002-present). In addition, he is the announcer for GSN's coming up bumpers and was the subject of a reality show, Chuck Woolery: Naturally Stoned (2003). He's also been featured on TV infomercials promoting a new town in Arkansas called Holiday Island. Since April 2005, Chuck has been providing narration for GSN's daytime lineup, and these bumpers run from the beginning of GSN's daily program until shortly before 4 p.m., when the standard bumper takes over. Woolery was raised in Ashland, Kentucky, and was an enthusiastic fisherman as a child. As a member of the band Avant-Garde with his partner Elkin Bubba Fowler, he made his first venture into the entertainment industry. Naturally Stoned (which became the name of Woolery's GSN reality show) was a moderate hit for Avant-Garde in 1968. Woolery agreed to host the newly established game show Wheel of Fortune in 1975 after being persuaded by television personality Merv Griffin. Woolery subsequently quit Wheel of Fortune due to a pay disagreement with the show's producers, which he admits was a miscalculation. Woolery has since become one of the most renowned and appreciated game show hosts in the business, thanks to his powerful looks, casual humor, and pleasant personality. Woolery, a born-again Christian, has eight children and has been married three times. He purchased a home in Austin, Texas, in 2006. Woolery is an avid bass fisherman who also offers his own brand of motorized fishing lures, MotoLures. Lingo, his current game show on GSN, is in its sixth season. On Lingo, he previously stated that being attacked by a big Calico cat named Skippy was his worst nightmare. Woolery also participates in the World Poker Tour Hollywood Homes Games in support of the Safe Passage Foundation. He's famous for his two-and-two commercial outros, as well as a two-finger hand motion that looks like a peace sign.
