Chrys Howard Biography

Chrys Howard the mother of Duck Dynasty's Korie Robertson claims she really did have a life before Duck Dynasty; sometimes it's just hard to remember what it was. She holds a degree in elementary education and spent ten years teaching children with learning differences. After teaching she joined their family owned business Howard Publishing where she served as senior editor and Creative Director. She has authored nine books including the best-selling Hugs for Daughters and Motivationals for Moms with over 1000000 books in print. She co-authored the New York Times bestseller Miss Kay's Duck Commander Cookbook Everything's Better with a Beard D is for Duck Calls and Faith Commander church curriculum.
She has spent over thirty years working with Christian youth camps serving as director for over 20 years; speaking to women's groups; teaching Bible classes to children teens and young adults; and traveling overseas for mission efforts.
She received the JC Penny Golden Rule Award for Volunteer Service was named one of the Outstanding Young Women of the Year was a finalist for the Ouota Club Women of the Year Award and was named to Who's Who of American Teachers. Chrys is the President and Founder of It's a Mom Thing Ministries and hosts a weekly radio show by the same name. She serves as the on-site tutor for all the Roberston children; and keeps her minivan revved up and ready to go at a moment's notice. Chrys is married to John Howard and has three grown children and eleven adorable grandchildren and lives next door to Korie and Willie in West Monroe Louisiana.
