Christopher Hahn Biography

Christopher Hahn is a New York-based political consultant and attorney. Christopher's ability to deal with public policy concerns was refined while he worked as an advisor to the United States Senator Charles Schumer for five years (D-N.Y.). His responsibilities during that time included dealing with post-September 11 Homeland Security efforts, federal environmental issues, and economic growth. His responsibilities included coordinating interagency projects at the regional, federal, state, and local levels. Chris was the senior appointed officer under Nassau County Executive Thomas Suozzi while serving as Chief Deputy County Executive. Chris was largely in charge of coordinating and managing the county government's everyday administration, communications, and operations. With a $2.6 billion budget, 8,700 personnel, and 47 agencies, Nassau County was a force to be reckoned with. Dealing with the whole legislative agenda, monitoring contracts, and personnel choices, coordinating with federal, state, and municipal governments and authorities, oversight of all communications and press efforts, and budget preparation and administration were all part of his responsibilities. He was the president and CEO of the United Way of Long Island, where he handled the organization's operational administration and fundraising efforts. He completed the changeover to the national Community Impact Model by managing their strategic strategy. Many new initiatives were incorporated into the program's activities. Christopher is a former member of the Long Island Power Authority (LIPA) Board of Directors and an adjunct professor of American Politics at Hofstra University. He is a popular political pundit who appears on Fox News Channel, Fox Business News, and News 12 Long Island on a regular basis, as well as contributing to Politico's Arena. Christopher is a member of the United Way of Long Island, The Suffolk County Vanderbilt Museum, The Cradle of Aviation Air & Space Museum, and the University of Albany Alumni Association boards. He is an outstanding improv comedian as well as a passionate runner and triathlete. Christopher graduated from the University of Albany with a B.A. and St. John's University School of Law with a J.D.
