Christine Carter Biography
Christine Carter is the author of Raising Happiness: 10 Simple Steps for More Joyful Kids and Happier Parents. Her blog is syndicated on the Huffington Post and PsychologyToday.com. In 2013 she won the Red Tricycle Award for Most Influential Blog and Best Parent Education; twice she has been nominated for an award from the American Sociological Association for public sociology.
A summa cum laude graduate of Dartmouth College, Dr. Carter was a senior fellow at Dartmouth before she began work in marketing and brand management, and later, school administration. After completing her masters and doctoral degrees in sociology at the University of California, Berkeley, Dr. Carter led the Greater Good Science Center (GGSC) as the executive director. After five years in this role, she hired a new executive director so that she could pursue her writing and speaking career full-time. She remains a faculty affiliate and science writer at the GGSC.
A keynote speaker who has addressed hundreds of professional groups at various events, Dr. Carter loves to share her work with new audiences. She regularly keynotes at large conferences and fundraisers, and is a popular commencement speaker.
