He has gained the internationally recognised reputation as 'The Materials Man', and is the leading authority on materials and their application in design. A leading advocate for material-centric design, he has published eight books on design and material innovation (translated into five languages) and they have irrevocably changed the way designers consider materials. He is also the editor and creative director of Ingredients magazine, which has a subscription of over 5000 designers across the world.

Over the last 10 years his achievements have been instrumental in changing the way designers and material manufacturers view and use materials. He has delivered inspirational workshops and lectures and curated stimulating exhibitions on materials and design across the world / Europe, North America and Asia.
